| General Information
The Club offers two types of memberships: Permanent and Summer.
A Permanent Membership has a one-time fee of $750 ($1,400 after 6/30, although all members must contribute the additional $650 by that time to fund the recently approved renovation) and then reduced summer fees on an ongoing basis. If you move out of the area, you can sell your permanent membership back to the Club for $1,400. If you wish to merely not use the pool for awhile (traveling a lot over the summer, for example), you can go inactive and pay no summer fees, but retain your permanent membership status.
Permanent Membership
To be eligible for a Permanent Membership, you must meet one of the following criteria:
- You are a homeowner, and the location of your home in the B.S.C. area makes you eligible.
- You currently rent your home and have been a resident in the B.S.C. area for at least the past two years and plan to remain here for the foreseeable future.
- You have been holding a summer membership for the past two years or more.
The Club also offers Summer Membership, space available, for anyone either not meeting the above critieria or not wanting to purchase a Permanent Membership.
Currently, we are accepting requests for Summer Memberships for 2010.

Rules for Determining the Number of Users
- All permanent household members who will be using any of the pool's facilities must be counted as members. This includes family members, housekeepers, au pairs or baby-sitters, and full-time summer residents of the household. There must be at least one dues paying adult per membership.
- For the 2009 season there will be no charge for infants born after 1/1/2009.
- Non-swimmers who will use pool facilities must be included.
- Parents who alternate taking their children to the pool must both be included on the membership card and in the dues calculation, even if they do not plan to use the pool facilities at the same time.
Summer Tenants and Housesitters
An active permanent member who has made the required payments for 2009, who plans to be away for part of the summer, and who has a tenant or house sitter for three weeks or more, may use the pool while here, and the tenant or house sitter may use the pool during their occupancy of the house. Please notify the Membership Chairperson in writing (mailed to the pool's P.O. Box 376, Glen Echo, MD 20812), listing the tenants' or house sitters' names, the number of pool users, and the dates of the member's absence. If the tenant's number of pool users is larger than that listed for the member on the MEMBERSHIP CARD, the appropriate additional dues must be paid by check prior to the tenants' use of the pool.
Long Term Tenants
Permanent members who rent their homes to long-term tenants may permit their tenants to use their pool membership. The tenant will pay permanent member rates instead of summer member rates. Notification of the permanent members’ intent must be received in writing by the Membership Chair.
For any questions, please contact the
Membership Chair, Claire Kelly.

POOL OPERATING RULES
A copy of the pool's operating rules is on our web site and will be prominently posted at the pool. If you would like to be sent a hard copy, please email Claire Kelly at c_l_kelly@yahoo.com. Please take the time to read the rules thoroughly. Parents, please make sure that your children know, understand, and observe these rules. If you bring guests to the pool, you are responsible for ensuring that they understand and observe the rules. We want the pool to be safe and enjoyable for everyone. Please note that children who are not fully toilet-trained may use the wading pool, but are not permitted in the main pool, or in the shallow "ell". There will be no exceptions, not even for toddlers with diapers that are designed for use in water. All children under the age of 8, and any child 8 through 13 who has not passed the required swimming test, must at all times be under the direct supervision of a parent or designated adult when using either the main pool, the shallow "ell", or the wading pool. Any members who flagrantly or repeatedly violate the rules may have their memberships suspended or canceled.
GUEST TICKETS
Guest tickets are available at the desk in $20 books. Guest Fees:
Weekdays Weekends and Holidays Weekly passes for house guests:
ADULTS CHILDREN (under 16) $4 $2 $5 $3 $16 $9
Guest tickets and passes may be purchased only by an adult member and only by personal check. Absolutely no cash will be accepted. To minimize pool overcrowding, members planning to bring more than 4 guests on a weekend are asked to check with the pool manager (301-229-6876) before coming to the pool.
The Board considers it an abuse of guest privileges and a violation of the rules: a) If a member repeatedly brings, as a guest, a person who could reasonably be expected to be an active member. b) If a member brings, as a guest, an inactive permanent member (except in the case of an inactive member living outside the D.C. area, who is in town temporarily or for a brief portion of the pool season)

Please let the manager know if you are planning to hold a party at the pool, there is a Master Calendar to help control crowd size and plan for lifeguards etc.
