Hello Bannockburn Swim Club Members!
While we have not officially changed seasons quite yet, it’s finally starting to feel like it outside and the schedule of events is heating up at our swim club:
Summer Hours and Early Bird Swim start June 20
The pool is open every day of the week right now with weekday openings at 2pm. Summer hours – during which the pool opens every day at 10:30am – start on Monday June 20. Early Bird Swim (weekdays from 6:30am – 8am) also begins June 20. For details on all club operating hours go to the BSC homepage.
Friday Food Trucks
Our weekly schedule of Friday food trucks has kicked-off. Holy Crepes pulls up tonight (June 10) and will be serving by 5pm. Trucks are scheduled for every Friday through the end of July. For a full schedule, please visit the BSC website calendar.
Bannockburn’s division champion swim team returns to action this Saturday June 11 for time trials. The swim club will be opening late — by 11:30am Saturday. If you are a swim team family, go to the swim team web page for details on the meet schedule including signing-up your swimmer for each meet. For more details on pool operating hours affected by swim meets check the BSC website calendar.
Adult Stroke Clinics
Are you an adult swimmer seeking variety, excitement and improvement in your swim routine? We will be offering a daytime and an evening stroke clinic for adults, once a week, for a fee. Exact times, starting dates, and prices to be determined. If interested, contact Meredith Griggs, firstname.lastname@example.org or John Noble, email@example.com.
Water Exercise Classes
Marianne Ross’ popular water exercise class is starting soon. The class includes aerobic, strength, flexibility, balance, and sheer water fun(!) exercises, both in shallow and deeper water. The classes are open to both permanent and summer members at no cost. The class meets Mondays and Thursdays from 10:30am to 11:15am. The first class is June 20th and the class runs for an eight-week session. Questions? Contact Marianne at firstname.lastname@example.org or 301-229-6690.
Interested in Triathlons?
Are you interested in learning more about triathlons and the Nations Tri this September? Please share your Tri experience and/or interest with other Swim Club members. Roland Backhaus and John Noble (Swim Club Board members) have substantial triathlon experience and will host this meeting of interested others on Monday June 20th at 7pm under the Pool Pavilion. Please RSVP to email@example.com or call 301-320-3554.
Storm looming…is the pool closed?
Last summer we introduced a mobile text alert system to notify members via text when the pool is closing due to weather or other unexpected circumstances. Given the positive feedback we received, we are offering this service again this summer and it has already been put to good use. If you are interested in receiving such alerts you can sign up by texting “bburnpool” (no quotation marks) to 781-728-9542 to opt-in to the system.
Member Survey: We want to hear from you!
Did you take the survey yet? Check your email inbox for our member survey that you should have received Monday June 6. The BSC Board wants your input on a variety of issues – so please participate.

He dives, I suppose, for divers reasons.
