We hope you had a great Memorial Day weekend, despite the cold weather. Here are a few updates going into this week:
As communicated last week, members can now bring guests to the pool. Please make sure you have guest credits in your account or purchase them here before bringing your guests to the pool. (Guest fees are $5 for all ages Monday – Friday, and $10 for adults 18 and older weekends and holidays, $5 for kids under 18). For groups of 10 or more, we ask that you fill out a party reservation request on our website.
Swim Lesson Request Form Now Live
Whether your children are just learning how to swim, your teenagers interested in improving their techniques, or you in “remembering” how to backstroke, our swim coaches and lifeguards are available for lessons. For more information and to sign up, go here. Fees range from $20-30 for 30 minutes paid directly to the instructor depending on experience and skill level.
Swim and Dive Teams Begin Practice This Week
Swim and Dive teams will begin practices this week. The swim team will be using all the lap lanes in the large pool from 4-6:30 pm Mon-Thurs and Fridays 5-6 pm. The smaller pool and baby pool are open as usual, so members are welcome to use these pools during swim practice. The dive team will be practicing Mon-Fri 6:30-7:30 pm and weekends 7:30-8:30 pm for the older kids. They will be using one or both of the diving boards, so lap swimming and recreation swim are both still accessible in large pool. It’s not too late to register for either or both teams. You can find more information on our website (under Teams tab).
Food trucks and restaurants are still recovering due to the impact of COVID. They would really appreciate your business. Check the event calendar to see the weekly line up. This Friday (June 4), we have Bund’ Up Pop Up @ 4:30 – 5:30 pm, menu and pre-ordering is here (walk ups also welcome). Bun’d Up offers handmade Korean Boa Buns with exotic fillings and customizable rice bowls and has kids meals as well. Sunday (June 6) Ford’s Fish Shack Truck 5-8 pm. Menu and online ordering here. Ford’s often sells out quickly so although walk ups may be possible, pre-ordering is strongly advised. This truck is probably the most famous and popular seafood food truck in the DMV. They will be offering their fresh off-the-hook seafood including their signature lobster rolls, NE clam chowdah, crab cakes, fish n chips and fish tacos. They also have kids meal options as well as whoopie pies for dessert and frozen hot chocolate and frozen blueberry lemonade for drinks.
Opt in for pool text alerts to receive notices about weather-related pool closures, changes to hours, critical messages, social & food truck evets, etc. Open your phone’s camera settings and point to the QR Code below to sign up. (Just push send with the auto-populated word bburnpool). Alternatively you can text Bburnpool to 662 200 4303 to subscribe.
We hope you have a wonderful week.
