Dear Swim Club Members,

It has been a hectic week for many of us, but summer at the pool is not over yet! A nice three day weekend lies ahead! Here are some updates to help you plan your time at the pool:

Revised Hours 

Our pool hours on weekdays are now 3:00 to 7:30 pm.  Weekend and holiday hours will be 10:30 to 7:30 pm.  Early Bird Adult Swim on weekdays from 6:30 -8:30 am (including Memorial Day) remains unchanged.

DMV Tacqueria, Saturday September 3, 2022, 4pm

Meet the newest Mexican taco truck on the scene!  Check out their menu here.  DMV Taqueria went into business one year ago and is getting lots of stellar reviews from their customers. Their barria tacos and quesadillas are getting lots of social media buzz and are some of their best sellers. Another fan favorite is Mar y Tierra (surf and turf) fries.  They also offer a wide variety of tacos, quesadillas, sandwiches, smothered fries, empanadas and churros.  We hope you’ll give this hard working, small family-owned business a try.

This is walk up ordering for on the spot quick fulfillment since the owner makes your meals fresh on the spot.  Enjoy!

Raft Night — September 3, 2022 6:00 pm – 6:45 pm!

One of our most loved Bannockburn traditions is back for a last round these season! Get your zaniest, craziest rafts and float and giggle to your heart’s content.  Bring friends (make sure to buy guest passes in advance please). Electric pumps are highly recommended!

Live Music in the Lot — September 10, 2022 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

24 Strings, a beloved Bannockburn band will be  performing a free concert in the lot. Local musicians Amr Khani, Todd McIntyre, Gianne Mcneil and special guest Mitch Joy will play an eclectic mix of Americana (Blues, Country, Rock &  Bluegrass ).

We will be closing half our parking lot so people can bring lawn chairs and kids can run around and play. Everyone from the community is most welcome! Please park in the nearby residential streets if you’re driving.  (If handicap,  please send email to info@bannockburnpool.com so we can make special arrangements for you).

Fords Fish SeaFood Truck — September 11, 2022 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Ford’s Fish Shack Truck is probably the most famous and popular seafood food truck in the DMV.  They will be offering their fresh off-the-hook seafood including their signature lobster rolls, NE clam chowdah, crab cakes, fish n chips and fish tacos.  They also have kids meal options as well as whoopie pies for dessert and frozen hot chocolate and frozen blueberry lemonade for drinks.    Menu and Online ordering link can be found here .  (They will open ordering up 10 days before the event). They may be able to accommodate walk-ups but pre-ordering highly advised since they will likely sell out.
Here’s a bit more background on Ford’s….Tony and Ana opened the first Ford’s Fish Shack on September 27, 2010 in Ashburn, VA. The idea was to create a comfortable and friendly fish shack like the many that are scattered along the New England Coast. Their vision was a neighborhood restaurant with an outstanding seafood selection served by a friendly staff. They knew they had to serve the freshest fish, lobstah, and Ipswich clams. And that’s when the journey began for them, and the 24 employees who had the courage to join them.

Last Day at the Pool — Dog Swim and Ice-Cream Social!

Sadly on September 11, we will be closing for the season at 6:30 pm. From 6:30 to 7:30 pm we will have dog swim.  The gates for the pooches will open @ 6:30 pm. We will also have ice cream to celebrate being together one last time.
