Weekend Ahead – Sept 10 & 11

Dear Bannockburn Swim members,

We’ve had a great summer and we’ll miss seeing friends, swimming and hanging out at our wonderful pool.  But before we bid adieu, we’d like to remind you of our last weekend activities, including our infamous dog swim.  Read on.

Live Music in the Lot- The Local  Rock & Roots 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm

The Local, an up-and-coming MoCo band, will be performing Rock & Roots covers at a free concert in the pool parking lot. Local musicians Amr Khani, Todd McIntyre, Gianne McNeil, Aaron Zitner and Mitch Joy will play an eclectic mix of rock hits, old favorites, and a few surprise twists.  Grab some great food from the Roaming Cayote food truck, bring your lawn chair, beverage of choice and be ready to grove!  Please note that we will be closing most of the parking lot at 5:00 pm so please park up the street and walk down.

Roaming Coyote Tex-Mex Food Truck 4:00 pm – 7:30 pm

Making a Bannockburn and Bethesda debut, the Roaming Coyote Tex Mex truck from Fairfax, VA was recently named one of the best food trucks in the DMV. They started turning their wheels in July 2018 and added a second truck due to its popularity. Their unique food trucks offer howling good food in the way of handcrafted tacos, mini chimis, bowls, platters, quesadillas, Locos Nachos and more.  Their best sellers are pork tacos, chicken taco bowl and nachos. They also make their guac and salsa daily. Menu and pre-ordering can be viewed here. Walk up orders are welcome but preordering advised.  (Please note, mini chimis can be ordered on the spot or added to your preorder at pick up).

Sunday,  September 11

Ford’s Fish Shack Seafood Truck 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Ford’s Fish Shack Truck is probably the most famous and popular seafood food truck in the DMV.  They will be offering their fresh off-the-hook seafood including their signature lobster rolls, NE clam chowdah, crab cakes, fish n chips and fish tacos.  They also have kids meal options as well as whoopie pies for dessert and frozen drinks.  Menu and Online ordering link can be found here. They may be able to accommodate walk-ups but pre-ordering is highly advised since they often sell out. Here’s a bit more background on Ford’s….Tony and Ana opened the first Ford’s Fish Shack on September 27, 2010 in Ashburn, VA. The idea was to create a comfortable and friendly fish shack like the many that are scattered along the New England Coast. Their vision was a neighborhood restaurant with an outstanding seafood selection served by a friendly staff. They knew they had to serve the freshest fish, lobstah, and Ipswich clams. And that’s when the journey began for them, and the 24 employees who had the courage to join them.

Ice Cream – Come help us wind up the pool season with an ice cream treat at 6:00 pm. (while supplies last)

Dog Swim – Pooches and their buddies will be storming the gates at 6:30 pm sharp.  Even if you don’t have a dog, you won’t want to miss this fun-filled tradition.

Sincerely,
Your Volunteer Board of Directors
