Storm Damage, pool closed until further notice

Hello Bannockburn Pool members, we wanted to give everyone an update about the pool. We already have a contractor removing fallen trees, brush and debris and the pool itself is actually in remarkably good condition, given the circumstances.

The major issue is the pool and immediate neighborhood have no power. Also, a utility pole next to our parking lot is leaning over, causing the lines to sag dangerously low in the middle of the parking lot. As an fyi, just down the road at MacArthur and Bannockburn Drive, many trees and power lines are down.

Until we have an inspection from Pepco and know a timeline for repairs and restoration, the pool and grounds will remain closed to all members. Even once power is restored, we need Pepco to inspect and possibly fix the leaning utility pole. We can’t say exactly how long the pool will be closed for now, but it will be closed for at least the next few days until operations are back up and running normally.
