Swim and Dive Team Registration for Summer 2023 is OPEN!

Dear Bannockburn Swim Club members,

I hope all of you are well and enjoying the warm weather.

This will be the first of many communications for the upcoming 2023 pool season! Below are some announcements from our Swim and Dive teams. We will be sending another newsletter as we near opening day (May 20th)!

BANNOCKBURN SWIM TEAM 2023
Welcome to the 67th year of Bannockburn Dolphin Swimming – Registration is OPEN! We’ve got an amazing summer line-up filled with improved swimming skills, awesome friends – not to mention Friday night dinners, karaoke and endless team spirit! Register NOW! 

Swim Team registration is open to ANY child between the ages of 5-18. Families must be either be a full member or have temporary full summer membership at Bannockburn.

Registration is open for both the competition team and the developmental pre-team.

• Competition Swim Team — All swimmers on the team must be able to complete one lap of freestyle across the pool. If your child is 8 & under and new to the team, he/she must complete an in-water evaluation PRIOR to registering for the team. These evaluations will take place at our “Back to Pool” event on Sunday May 21st at 9-11am at Bannockburn Pool or at anytime during the first few weeks of practices.
• Pre-Team – If you have a younger swimmer (aged 5–8), comfortable blowing bubbles, kicking on the wall or with a kickboard, the Bannockburn pre-team is a great choice. Pre-teamers must be five years old before June 1, 2023. The Pre-Team runs from mid-June through mid-July, and culminates with the Annual Pre-Team Meet!

Practice Schedule – Early-evening practices begin May 22nd; starting June 19th you have a choice of morning and/or evening practice times.  Refer to the team schedule for more information.

Meets – Swimmers of all abilities will have a chance to compete in Wednesday evening B-meets.  Qualifying swimmers will compete in Saturday morning A-meets. Pre-team will have one meet at the end of the season!

Lessons –  Private lessons will be available throughout the summer – more information coming soon.

BANNOCKBURN DIVE TEAM 2023

The Bannockburn Dive Team is planning to be back for Summer 2023!  We are excited to welcome new divers and all returning divers – your child(ren) only needs to be 5 years old and up and able to swim from the board to the ladder.  Never done a front dive?  That’s OK.   No experience required-we love beginners. The Bannockburn Dive team is low pressure, no cut, everyone can compete at every meet, minimal time commitment and most important fun team. It also a great way to get to know and hang out with fellow Dolphins.  Our coaches (Liam, Ainsley and Brooke) are home grown Dolphin divers-they got their start as summer divers at Bannockburn.  If you have any questions please feel free to email Loretta at bobolr@yahoo.com.  Registration will open 5/9.  Practices are daily Monday thru Friday 6:30-7:30 or 7:30-8:15 and will start Tuesday May 30.
